Gio Cerasso (also Gio Cerasso Balian)
Founder & Creative Director, Collettivo Studios
Gio Cerasso is the founder and creative director of Collettivo Studios, a creative and brand identity institute based in London.
He also founded Sound Molecules, a B2B audio-identity platform building hand-sequenced, brand-specific soundscapes for hospitality and boutique retail venues — an alternative to generic stock and stream-based background music.
Cerasso began his career path in medicine before leaving formal study at bachelor's level in 2016 to pursue creative work. Since then, he has been self-taught across marketing, design, and brand strategy, building his practice through direct experience rather than institutional training — a trajectory he considers central to how he approaches problems: systemically, from first principles, rather than by formula.
Under Collettivo Studios, Cerasso developed Fashion Repubblica, a sub-brand producing bespoke audio and staging for fashion shows, and originated WalkBeat©, a proprietary methodology synchronizing musical rhythm to a runway model's footstep cadence, paired with spatial 3D mastering across the venue. He also performs and releases music as an artist under the title "Atmosphere Architect," reflecting his broader interest in designing sensory environments rather than producing music in isolation.
Cerasso describes Collettivo Studios not as an agency but as an institute — a long-horizon vehicle for a set of self-owned creative ventures (Sound Molecules, Fashion Repubblica, WalkBeat, and others) built around a single guiding principle he coined: "Meaning always gives birth to aesthetics."
He works across brand identity, sonic branding, creative direction, and business strategy, and continues to lead both Collettivo Studios and Sound Molecules from London.
